About Rick

Rick Pernod is a widely respected data science executive staffing expert from NYC. He combines logic, business savvy, creativity, and cutting-edge approaches to constantly shifting business demands. Rick has over twenty years of experience in the search industry.

Before beginning his career in executive search, Rick had a successful career as a Professor at City College in NYC and as the Executive Director of Exoterica, an award-winning literary non-profit. He has a BA from the University of Minnesota, an MFA from CCNY, and received a full fellowship to study in Columbia University’s Ph.D. program in Sociology. His concentration was on Statistical Analysis.

Rick comes from a family of headhunters with decades of experience which encouraged him to try his hand at executive search. Rick first became a full-time search professional for Hire Options in NYC. He moved to Adecco after six years to take the lead in their permanent recruiting practice.

After several successful years, he was offered a Managing Director spot at the Twiller Moore Executive Search. Rick turned the firm’s focus to advanced analytics search, focusing on recruiting top talent in data science and analytics. He was made a full partner, and the firm changed its name to Pernod Angelus.

Rick saw the writing on the wall and thought the firm should focus 100% on advanced analytics and data science. As a result of some resistance, Rick opened his executive search firm, Pernod Analytics, ten years ago.  

Rick runs a team that recruits the best talent performing at the top of their game. He brings his philosophy of enabling clients to realize the economic value of hiring the best talent. He knows that executive search fees should be a drop in the bucket compared to the talent retention, cost savings, and profits generated from superior performance.
